A cogeneration boiler producing 240kW of electricity and 1.242 MBTU of boiler capacity.
CHP with natural gas qualifies for greenhouse gas savings (942 tonnes in Alberta with a 240kWh unit operating 90% of a year)
- 776 tonnes is equivalent to taking 166 cars off the road for a year of planting 206 acres of fir trees!
Somewhere between a lush garden and a spacious conference hall exists The Enjoy Centre, with its perfect mix of sunlit ceilings and functional event space. The Enjoy Centre is a unique multi-use facility featuring a greenhouse, spa, cafe & restaurant, whole foods, bakery, events center and more!
The beauty of the decentralized CHP solution is that at its core it is simply about using energy more efficiently. Decentralized energy systems cut out most of the central power plant losses by producing energy close to the facilities they heat and power and by utilizing the heat produced in the electricity generation process rather than wasting it. In addition the Enjoy Centers CHP is island mode capable meaning that so long as natural gas is available even in a grid outage the CHP can keep much of the center operating so greenhouse inventory isn’t lost or a wedding isn’t spoilt.
